Bruno Meschi (Chile) is a charango player whose career has focused on developing the charango as a solo and concert instrument, expanding its expressive possibilities through a contemporary practice and extending his stage work through the bansuri. His work stands out for performances that combine technical rigour, depth and subtlety, making the solo charango repertoire the centre of his artistic project.
He began his training at the age of 12, on a sustained path nourished by Chilean, Latin American and Western traditions, training both in the living tradition of the charango and in academic composition at the Universidad Católica de Chile, where he absorbed the fundamental and deeper elements of the written musical tradition. He complements this training with studies in music production and management in Barcelona.
He has performed in Chile and Spain and keeps close ties with the community of Latin American charango players. In 2025, in Santiago de Chile, he took part in the 8th Encuentro de Charango y Otras Hierbas, alongside leading performers such as Naysha Montes (Peru), Luciel Izumi (Bolivia), Johan Lema (Ecuador), the duo Fique y Maíz (Colombia) and Agustina Gómez (Argentina). In 2023 he released his first solo album, Charango, and in 2025 his piece “Chincol” was selected for the third edition of the album Charango Autores Chilenos, produced by the Sociedad Chilena del Charango (recorded and mastered in 2026), consolidating his contribution as a performer and creator within the world of the instrument.
